About The Role
Whitehaven is seeking an experienced Specialist - Service Exchange reporting to the Inventory Manager, to join our dynamic Procurement & Supply team.
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the availability and performance of vendor-owned Service Exchange components to support maintenance execution across our operations. Sitting within the Inventory function, this role bridges Asset, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, combining technical understanding, commercial judgement, and supply chain coordination to optimise availability, cost, and vendor performance.
What You'll Do
* Manage the end-to-end Service Exchange process for vendor-owned components, ensuring availability aligns with maintenance and shutdown requirements.
* Monitor the SX pipeline and proactively manage supply risks to prevent operational delays.
* Liaise with OEMs and vendors to manage repair turnaround times, availability commitments, and delivery schedules.
* Review, validate, and approve SX quotations within delegated authority, ensuring alignment with scope, cost, and repair vs replacement decisions.
* Escalate and resolve vendor performance issues to minimise impact on maintenance execution.
* Partner with Maintenance Planners and Asset teams to align SX availability with forward demand and operational priorities.
* Provide SX readiness inputs and identify risks for upcoming work orders and shutdown activities.
* Ensure correct utilisation of SX arrangements, avoiding unnecessary purchases where exchange solutions are available.
* Analyse demand trends, repair cycles, and vendor performance to improve availability and cost outcomes.
* Utilise SAP tools and reporting dashboards to manage demand, supply, and performance.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across inventory, procurement, and maintenance processes.
What You'll Bring
* Demonstrated experience in supply chain, inventory, or asset management within mining, heavy industry, or asset‐intensive environments.
* Strong understanding of repairable components, Service Exchange models, or maintenance processes.
* Ability to review technical scopes and vendor quotations with sound commercial judgement.
* Experience working with SAP S/4HANA, including procurement and asset management processes.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive operational decisions.
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* High attention to detail, problem‐solving capability, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‐paced environment.
