Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital
This is a pivotal role in generating revenue (via additional patient activity) and efficiency (via list optimisation) for the Hospital. The post-holder will build strong relationships and work effectively with a range of important stakeholders including visiting medical officers (VMO’s), their Practice Managers & staff, patients and caregivers.
The Position
Execute ad-hoc allocations ensuring all stakeholders are awareSupport the DDON Perioperative Services to identify and manage leads to proactively pursue targeted SpecialistsProactively seek future utilisation in order to support productivity of procedural servicesManage obstetric and robot allocationsCompile and distribute allocation of ad-hoc availability for Main Theatre, CVIL, Endoscopy, Short Stay Unit and Subiaco Eye HospitalProactively build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with procedural VMO’s and their PracticesManage orientation and on-boarding processes to support newly accredited surgical specialist practice staffBe a conduit for both VMOs and procedural services to foster effective communication of desired outcomeDemonstrate strong customer service focus for VMO’s and other key stakeholdersFoster transparent communication with other relevant departmentsDevelop strong collegial relationships with other managers and caregiversMaintain transparency between theatre booking information and procedural services across the patient journeyMonitor the quality and accuracy of dataMaintain a register and calendar of leave dates for visiting medical officers (VMOs)Support the Deputy Director of Nursing (Perioperative Services) with managing the efficiency and usage rates of theatres and allocations of permanent sessionsPatient flow (CCC tasks)Provide structure and guidance for VMOs for prioritising patient flowEffectively communicate critical information to key departmentsSupport procedural teams by providing advice and assistance
You will possess a minimum of two (2) years’ experience preferably in a health care setting with Admissions, scheduling and/or bookings. You will also have a demonstrated ability to build collaborative and sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
To succeed you will have well-developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a workload to meet operational deadlines. A good working knowledge and experience in the use of computerized patient booking systems and all Microsoft applications is essential.
