What you'll do
* Oversee the flow of the systems within the distribution centre to ensure all areas of production are being carried out according to the operational plan, so that store orders are marshalled on time and meeting dispatch windows.
* Report on any deviations to the operational plan from an automation perspective (e.g. we are falling behind in our palletising area and this might risk the DC's ability to hit delivery windows)
* Work with SCADA Operators to understand cause and effect of automation issues, from an operational perspective
* Use automation and related systems, including Planning tools, Operational Dashboards, CCTV, UHF Radios
* Manage the introduction of new products into the DC and the required system information to allow for automated handling
* Correct problems related to product handling issues throughout the DC including root cause analysis and rectification
What you'll bring
* Previous experience in continuous process improvement is desired
* Proven experience and confidence with navigating various systems and software programs
* An investigative mindset, with a high level of problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal errors
* Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to convey information with the required sense of urgencyGood analytical skills including interpreting data and manipulating data in Excel / Google Sheets
* High attention to detail
* Flexibility to meet business needs, including changing shifts and days as required
