Clinical Psychologist- Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub

Service Delivery Directorate - Child Youth & Family Division

About the role

Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub is a new community based service providing mental health and wellbeing support for children up to the age of 12 years.

As a Clinical Psychologist at Head to Health Kids, you'll take a key role in delivering high quality clinical services to children (0-12 years) experiencing mild to moderate mental health and well-being challenges. You'll take a child centred approach but will extend your scope to focus on the families and carers of our clients to provide a truly wholistic health service to our community.

Your clinical skills in specialist assessment, case formulation and treatment design and delivery will be consistently used at a high level, and you'll be flexibly delivering adaptive interventions for a range of behavioural, emotional, psychosocial and health problems both independently and in conjunction with Head to Health Kids Hub staff and external service providers.

You'll have the benefit of practicing within an experienced multidisciplinary team including allied health, nursing and medical staff reflecting the Hub based nature of the service, which will add to the scope of the support you'll receive and be able to provide.

As well as your clinical role, you'll contribute to the ongoing development of the service, meaning you'll play a key role in shaping the future direction of a new and dynamic service, and will assist in building capacity in the community to enhance supports for children and families.

You'll be the driving force in our purpose - to prevent and relieve distress, to collaboratively support children's well-being and quality of life goals, and to increase functioning for children and their families.

This is a temporarily funded position until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension subject to funding.
