Job Description
The Deputy General Counsel plays a pivotal role in providing high-quality legal advice to key internal stakeholders and leading the legal team within the Office of General Counsel (OGC). This position manages a team of legal practitioners, ensuring compliance and protecting the University's interests through advanced legal expertise.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and commercially sound advice across diverse and complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Develop practical, legally sound solutions aligned with the university's strategic priorities, policies, and procedures.
* Manage a team of legal practitioners, applying advanced legal expertise to ensure compliance and protect the University's interests.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A current unrestricted Australian Practicing certificate.
* Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and commercially sound advice across a diverse range of specialised and complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Experience as a senior in-house legal counsel for a not-for-profit entity and/or in the higher education sector would be beneficial.
