The School Financial Management and Support Branch supports public schools with technical and transactional finance matters and provides finance policy support. The Branch also coordinates schools' financial systems and delivers training and guidance to strengthen capability across school finance management.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly capable professional who is excited to lead a high‑performing team and is driven by continuous and improvement and thrives in a dynamic and forward thinking team environment. The Principal Consultant School Finance Systems provides strategic leadership for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of financial management systems used across public schools. You will work closely with ICT and business stakeholders to ensure systems are fit for purpose, aligned to contemporary financial management practices, and compliant with relevant legislative and policy requirements.
You will lead and coordinate system enhancements and change initiatives, support governance arrangements (including key configurations such as chart of accounts frameworks), and provide expert advice to stakeholders on system functionality, controls and process impacts. The role also contributes to the development of guidance and training materials for schools, supports targeted capability uplift, and drives continuous improvement to strengthen system usability, data integrity and financial governance outcomes.
