Offer description

This is a temporarily funded position until for 2 years with the possibility of extension subject to funding.

Health Promotions Officer - Cancer Care(HPO – Cancer Care) develops and implements strategies to raise awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and support services.The HPO will work with communities, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to promote healthy behaviours and reduce the cancer burden.Key activities include developing educational materials, assisting in developing cancer care pathways between service providers, delivering presentations, and coordinating community events.

Skills and experience

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills:Able to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and build relationships with stakeholders.
* Knowledge of health promotion principles and practices:Solid understanding of how to design and implement effective health promotion programs.
* Experience in developing and delivering educational materials:They should be able to create engaging and informative resources.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team:HPO Cancer Care need to be self-motivated and able to work effectively with others.
* Strong organizational and project management skills:They need to be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Experience in the health sector or community services is often preferred.
* Tertiary or similar qualifications in public health, health promotion, or a related field (desirable) or experience

Remuneration: $26.83 to $37.27 per hour + superannuation dependent on quals on experience

You will be required to undertake and pass a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, pre-employment wellness check (including drug and alcohol screening) and obtain an NSW Working with Children Check.
