Job Description
The Walkabout Lodge & Tavern, Nhulunbuy, is seeking a reliable and motivated Handyperson to support hotel and accommodation operations. The role involves assisting with yard duties, general maintenance, deliveries, and keeping external areas clean, safe, and well-presented.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance tasks
* Cleaning and maintaining buildings, grounds and facilities
* Painting of walls, ceilings and other surfaces
* Operating and maintaining hand and power tools
* Assisting with the installation of new equipment or fixtures
* Inspecting buildings and facilities for safety hazards, and reports any issues
* Performing landscaping and gardening tasks
* Moving and arranging furniture and equipment as needed
* Recording of maintenance and repair work performed
About You
* No previous experience required – training and upskilling provided for the right applicant
* Available to work full-time hours across a 7-day rotating roster, with shifts averaging approximately 8 hours per day, inclusive of a 30-minute unpaid meal break.
* Shifts are rostered in line with the venue's operating hours, a typical shift may be from 7am – 3pm between Monday and Friday, with occasional weekend work
* Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and manual handling
* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
