Survey Technician – Field Based (Experienced)

Lawson Surveys is a professional, tight-knit team of surveyors and support staff providing responsive, accurate surveying services to builders, civil contractors, developers, and consultants. The role
Supported by our Project and Operations team, you will manage day-to-day surveying activities onsite, providing spatial solutions to clients that can include:
* Construction set-out and as-builts
* Detail and feature surveys
* Establishing, maintaining and protecting control to required accuracies
* Ensuring accuracy of survey data and delivering clean field outputs
* Working confidently with site supervisors and contractors to keep works moving
* Proactively identifying and solving issues onsite before they become problems
This is a hands-on, field-based role, suited to someone who can work independently, take ownership of quality outcomes, and communicate clearly.
What are we looking for?
* Minimum 2+ years' experience in a field-based surveying role in Australia (civil/construction preferred)
* Strong working knowledge of Trimble total station and GNSS equipment
* Experience delivering construction set-out with tight tolerances
* Good judgement, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset
* Ability to prioritise your workload and keep accurate field records
* Current Australian driver's licence
* Must hold a full Australian driver's licence
* White Card
* Current White Card certification must be held at the time of application
* Full Australian working rights (no sponsorship offered)
Desirable
* Experience with Civil 3D workflows and field-to-office deliverables
* Experience across civil works, subdivisions, and major construction sites
* Ability to assist and mentor junior staff onsite when required
