Morgan Transport Group is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our growing team in Townsville .

We operate a diverse fleet across refrigerated, general freight and linehaul operations, and we are looking for a reliable, safety-focused mechanic who takes pride in keeping equipment roadworthy, compliant and operating efficiently.
Your duties will include:
* Servicing, maintenance and repairs to heavy vehicles and trailers
* Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
* Conducting inspections and preventative maintenance
* Attending breakdowns and urgent repair work where required
* Completing workshop paperwork and maintenance records accurately
* Maintaining a clean and safe work area
* Working with the operations team to minimise downtime and keep fleet availability high
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or similar
* Experience working on heavy vehicles, trailers and fleet equipment
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Good understanding of heavy vehicle safety and compliance requirements
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail
* HR licence preferred, but not essential
* Forklift ticket, welding or fabrication experience highly regarded
