We are seeking a seasoned trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our experienced and dedicated workshop team at our Adelaide branch. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and coach technicians in repair routines, promoting safety and quality in all aspects of the on-highway workshop environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and experience with heavy vehicles, rail experience desirable. They will also possess practical knowledge of repair operations, with expertise in operating machinery, tools, and equipment.

About this role:
* General supervision and responsibility of workshop repairs that aim to meet customer schedules and maximise resource availability and capability
* Promote productivity and efficiency improvements with all technicians to maximise profitability and efficiency with a focus on customer satisfaction by way of working towards achieving customer schedules for return of vehicles
* Oversee job reports to ensure accurate recording of tasks completed
* Participate in the orderly development of work instructions
* Debrief with service supervisor and service advisors on job progress
* Drive product improvement initiatives, influencing site maintainers with current recommendations
* Assist with parts interpretation and expedite the supply chain
* Be the point of contact for future digitisation or continuous improvement initiatives
* Contribute towards an ongoing improvement culture in the safety, quality, and productivity of the team
* Provide great customer service

About you:
* Trade qualified diesel mechanic with experience in heavy vehicles
* Leadership and supervision experience preferred, however a senior technician with the capability to step up may be considered
* Practical knowledge of repair operations with expertise in operating machinery, tools, and equipment
* Have a strong background with heavy vehicles, rail experience desirable
* Sound technical knowledge and experience in MTU, Detroit, and Allison transmission product is desirable
