As we continue to deliver & evolve, we are looking for an experienced Senior SMP Engineer to join our team.
About the role
As a Senior SMP Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving engineering excellence across structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) design
This role can be based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
* Lead SMP engineering, design and technical assurance activities.
* Review and develop structural layouts, mechanical equipment designs, piping layouts and isometrics.
* Ensure all designs comply with project requirements, standards and regulations
* Oversee calculations, specifications, datasheets and key engineering deliverables.
* Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
* Lead HAZIDs, HAZOPs and design risk reviews.
* Resolve complex engineering issues and support project commissioning.
* Coordinate design activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
* Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and client representatives.
Your skills and experience:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
* 5+ years in a senior engineering role within power, energy or process plant sectors.
* Experience in design‑for‑construction and multi‑disciplinary project environments.
* Exposure to site‑based engineering highly regarded.
* Proficiency in digital engineering tools (Autopipe, Microstran, Spacegass, Caesar II etc.).
* Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia.
* Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills.
