Verification and Validation Engineer, Site Autonomy – Join to apply for theVerification and Validation Engineer, Site Autonomyrole atHexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division.
The Project: Hexagon has partnered with a mining client to develop an autonomous haulage solution for a world-first fleet of 120 fully autonomous road trains to carry ore 150 km to the Port.
The solution includes drive-by-wire technology and an autonomous management system, and is a truck-agnostic, full-site solution designed to streamline vehicle movement in road-train haulage.

Responsibilities
Write autonomous site system validation and verification plans for site system features that require interconnection between multiple products
Contribute to regulatory compliance and robustness test strategies across product V&V teams
Integrate functional safety testing requirements into the overall autonomous site system V&V strategy
Contribute to V&V strategies and specific plans to ensure customer statement of work requirements are met
Maintain documentation of verification and validation procedures, policies, test cases and reports
Identify process improvement opportunities and equipment needs for validation/testing
Engage across development, deployment and customer project teams on project deliverables at varied levels
Partner closely with key stakeholders internal/external on project timelines, variations and deliverables
This position is based inWangara, Perth at our Project Office.
It may require some ad hoc evening or early AM meetings due to collaboration with international teams, so workplace flexibility is supported.
Qualifications
About you
We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer with a background in AHS mining operations who can bring their knowledge and skills to a fast-paced and dynamic project.
We are seeking the following qualifications and skills:
Technical
Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent
Certification such as ISTQB, PMP, or INCOSE
Experience in product Verification & Validation activities for mining or resource-based technology applications
Experience in writing test plans
General
Creative and open-minded; fosters an environment where sharing of ideas is encouraged
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to conduct validation studies
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to build cohesive relations across a multi-level stakeholder group
Experience in a project environment from conception to full deployment
Valid Australian working rights: Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen
Desirable
Proven experience validating hardware and software components within complex, integrated systems
Direct experience with V&V activities for autonomous site systems and autonomous vehicles
