The Role
This is a full time position with an annual salary of $110,000 plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive oral examinations, periodontal assessments, and diagnostic evaluations using clinical and radiographic findingsDiagnose dental diseases including caries, pulpal pathology, periodontal conditions, occlusal issues, and oral lesionsDevelop individualised treatment plans based on clinical need, patient history, and preventive care principlesPerform restorative procedures including composite and amalgam fillings, crowns, and bridge preparationsProvide endodontic treatment including pulpectomy and root canal therapy using rotary instrumentation and obturation techniquesCarry out routine and surgical extractions while managing pain control and post operative careDeliver preventive care including scale and clean, fluoride therapy, fissure sealants, and oral hygiene instructionManage periodontal conditions through non surgical periodontal therapy and maintenance programsPrescribe medications such as antibiotics and analgesics in accordance with therapeutic guidelinesTake and interpret intraoral radiographs including bitewings, periapicals, and panoramic imagingProvide prosthodontic services including dentures, relines, repairs, and implant supported restorations where applicableManage dental emergencies such as acute pain, infection, trauma, and abscess formationMaintain accurate clinical records, treatment notes, and consent documentation in accordance with regulatory standardsAdhere to infection control protocols, sterilisation procedures, and clinical governance requirementsCollaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and external specialists to ensure continuity of patient careEducate patients on oral health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options
Requirements
Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or equivalent recognised qualificationCurrent registration with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA) with no restrictionsMinimum 12 months of clinical experience in general dentistry across diagnostic, restorative, endodontic, and surgical proceduresAt least 12 months of experience managing complex treatment plans including multidisciplinary care and prosthodontic rehabilitationMinimum 12 months of experience in advanced restorative and prosthodontic procedures including crown and bridge work, occlusal rehabilitation, and denture managementMinimum 12 months of experience in emergency dental care including management of acute infections, trauma, and pain relief proceduresAt least 12 months of experience using digital radiography and modern dental practice software systemsStrong knowledge of Australian infection control standards and clinical guidelinesCompetence in local anaesthesia techniques and pain management protocolsExcellent communication skills for patient education and informed consentAbility to work independently in a regional clinical setting
