As a key member of our rolling stock maintenance team, you will play a hands-on role in keeping our locomotives and wagons moving across the country. Based in Narngulu, you'll be part of a skilled group dedicated to ensuring efficient freight services.
About the role:
You will exercise your mechanical trade skills in servicing, repairing, and maintaining locomotives and wagons to guarantee the smooth running of operations. Your work keeps freight flowing efficiently and safely throughout Western Australia.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting routine corrective maintenance and fault repair on locomotives and wagons
* Reporting on actual work performed against the scheduled work program
* Ensuring all work is performed according to technical and operational specifications
* Contributing to the implementation and application of work procedures and practices to ensure continuous quality improvement
* Maintaining all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, maintenance programs, and costing systems
* Supporting other WA maintenance depots as per EA agreement
About you:
* A strong commitment to safety
* Hold a Mechanical Trade Certificate - LV/AG Mechanics highly desired
* A high level of knowledge of functions, defects, and fault finding with equipment
* Adequate skill in interpreting technical instructions and drawings
* Substantial skill in the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of locomotives, wagons, or heavy industrial plant (desired but not essential)
