In this role, being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational requirement and is authorised by section 14(d) of the Anti‐Discrimination Act 1997 (NSW).

Strengthening connections between Aboriginal communities and the health system through culturally safe support, compassionate guidance and strong cultural leadership in alcohol and other drug care.

Make a meaningful difference by strengthening connections between Aboriginal communities and the public health system through culturally safe, respectful and responsive alcohol and other drug care.

* Provide culturally safe, person‐centred support to Aboriginal patients and families accessing alcohol and other drug services.
* Build strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities to support healing and recovery.
* Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure care planning reflects cultural needs, family connections and social and emotional wellbeing.
* Assess health and social support needs and connect patients with appropriate health, community and cultural services.
* Provide cultural leadership and guidance to support culturally responsive practice across the team.

* Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with strong cultural knowledge and understanding of the needs of Aboriginal people, families and communities.
* Bring professional and/or lived experience supporting Aboriginal people experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges, with insight into the impacts on individuals, families and communities.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and provide cultural guidance that strengthens culturally safe service delivery.
* Communicate effectively and contribute cultural leadership while supporting care coordination and building strong relationships with community services.
* Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to support culturally responsive practice across the service.
Selection Criteria

* In this role being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational requirement. Tell us about your mob and connection to culture?
* Cert IV Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Care or other relevant qualifications and /or relevant experience working within Aboriginal Health programs.
* Describe your demonstrated experience supporting Aboriginal people experiencing alcohol and other drug related challenges, including the impacts on individuals, families and communities.
* Describe your demonstrated experience undertaking health and social needs assessments and working with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate culturally responsive care and contribute to Aboriginal health programs or services.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C‐Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
