Join a busy Hotel/Gastro Pub in regional township of Bathurst - NSW
The George Hotel at Bathurst is currently looking for a full-time cook/chef to join our culinary team. Work alongside skilled, professional and dedicated chefs in our gastro pub.
Pub/bistro food experience will be well regarded for this role.
To be successful, you must have minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a busy fast-paced kitchen (preferably with Hotel/Bistro background) .
Demonstrated skills required:-
* English communication skills are essential along with relevant trade qualifications
* Knife skills and knowledge of cutting techniques - able to prepare, season and cook food as directed
* Able to rotate in various sections and have knowledge of various cooking methods and operate standard kitchen equipment.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow recipes and presentation standards and meet dietary requirements
* Clean and organise kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations
* Ability to multitask and work efficiently to support the team
* Positive "can do" attitude and a great team player
All applicants require relevant skills and qualifications along with:
* Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience gained in professional kitchen environment, confident with working in most sections of a professional kitchen
* Preferably a stable employment record and /or focused with a desire to learn and succeed in a culinary/hospitality career - relevant qualifications preferred
* Applicants must have valid Australian work rights or hold an appropriate work visa.
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is required.
* Flexible to work around requirement of the business when needed - weekend/school/public holidays
