Building Materials Consultant

Midstream Hardware is a trade-focused building materials supplier based in Mandurah, supporting builders and trades across the Peel region.
As our business continues to grow, we are strengthening our focus on builders and trade customers, helping them complete projects quicker and easier through reliable supply and practical support.
We are looking for someone to join our team as a Building Materials Consultant, supporting builders and trade customers across quoting, product advice and account development.
Strong knowledge of building materials or construction is more important than previous sales experience.
The Role
Working as part of our team, your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing quotes and assisting with take-offs for builders and trades
* Following up quoting opportunities and converting them into orders
* Developing relationships with builders and key trade customers
* Identifying opportunities to grow existing customer accounts
* Assisting customers in store, over the phone and on site when required
* Working closely with the internal team to ensure efficient supply of materials
This is a hands-on role supporting builders through the quoting and supply process while helping grow Midstream's trade customer base.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience in building materials, timber, hardware or construction
* Enjoy working with builders and trade customers
* Be confident building relationships and identifying opportunities
* Be organised and capable of managing quotes and follow-ups
* Take pride in providing practical service and support
This role may suit someone currently working in a timber yard, hardware store, building supplier, trade counter, or a builder or carpenter looking to move into a sales and consulting role.
Salary & Benefits
* Competitive salary $85,000 – $95,000 + super (depending on experience)
