Brighton and Hove Healthy Child Programme (5-19) has a vacancy for a band 5 School Staff Nurse to work term time only, across the Brighton & Hove area.
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of primary schools providing agreed elements of the Healthy Child Programme.
Deliver interventions to support children and families with specific health concerns and make referrals to other services.
Support children and families with additional vulnerabilities, including safeguarding concerns.
Work with the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) team to provide a child-centred, inclusive, holistic and accessible public health programme.
Establish effective links with statutory and voluntary agencies and promote the physical and emotional wellbeing of children and young people.
Make referrals to relevant professionals to enable children to reach their health and developmental potential.
Qualifications & Requirements
Active registration as a qualified Nurse on part 1 of the NMC register, or an NMC registered midwife.
Safeguarding Children Level 6 module (or willingness to obtain).
Good literacy, numeracy and proficient IT skills.
Ability to draw information from a range of sources, reflect, learn and apply research to practice.
Knowledge of clinical governance, audit, supervision and safeguarding procedures.
Car driver with a current driving licence and access to a car for work (except where Equality Act applies).
Experience working with children and within a community setting; teaching and presenting experience preferred.
Disclosure and Barring Service check (subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act).

£31,049 to £37,796 a year per annum (pro-rata, term time only).
