See yourself in our team
At CommBank, we never lose sight of the role we play in other people’s financial wellbeing. Our focus is to help people and businesses move forward, to progress. To make the right financial decisions and achieve their dreams, targets, and aspirations. Regardless of where you work within our organization, your initiative, talent, ideas, and energy all contribute to the impact that we can make with our work. Together we can achieve great things.
People Enablement, within Everyday People Services (EPS), is focused on enabling our people and leaders to make decisions that are informed by accurate, reliable, and relevant insights, and able to confidently and easily take actions that reflect the behaviour we need to pursue excellence across our organisation. This includes focusing on our strategic priorities of HR’s ongoing digital transformation and process optimisation activities, enabling effective, self-service HR solutions for employees, leaders, and key stakeholders across the Group; signature HR processes; and operating model embedding. These simpler, better people initiatives make it faster for people to complete their HR transactions, ensuring they’re in the best position to look after our customers.
This role will report into the Chapter Area Lead of People Enablement and be hands on in a squad (or team) delivering exciting initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you need to be a passionate HR professional with experience working across a broad range of HR projects in hands-on delivery roles with responsibility for developing and delivering the end-to-end engagement approach and activities and where you have utilised your well-developed stakeholder management skills and communication skills. You’ll be passionate about leveraging technology and AI to design and build engaging and seamless employee experiences.
Do work that matters:
People are a key part of CommBank’s strategy, and HR partners with our business units in building a vibrant, customer-focused, and high-integrity culture. Human Resources are the custodians of the employee lifecycle - from acquiring talent, through to leadership development and training, internal mobility, advising on employee relations, and delivering remuneration and benefits programs.
Role Overview:
We’re seeking a Product Designer with deep expertise in Human-Centred Design (HCD), a strong understanding of employee experience, and who is energised around how AI can transform HR. This role is focused on enabling our people through better design, smarter tools, and more meaningful interactions with the systems and services they use every day.
You’ll lead the design of experiences that not only solve current pain points but anticipate future needs—harnessing technology to personalise, simplify, and elevate how our people work, grow, and thrive. You’ll collaborate across HR, technology, and business teams to ensure that solutions are grounded in real user insight, co-created with employees, and aligned with our strategic people priorities.
We're interested in hearing from people who can:
* Design transformative employee experiences across the HR lifecycle using Human-Centred Design and UX best practices, with a focus on real-world impact
* Play a lead role in integrating AI-driven solutions into HR services and processes ensuring technology empowers rather than overwhelms
* Collaborated with data scientists, engineers, and product owners to explore, prototype and implement AI use cases that drive personalisation, prediction, automation and decision support in HR
* Lead and facilitate co-creation workshops, research and testing activities with employees and HR stakeholders to ensure solutions are shaped by the people who use them
* Develop and deliver design assets including journey maps, low- and high-fidelity prototypes, and work closely with their team to bring them to life
* Act as a design thought leader within HR—championing innovation, inclusive design, and AI literacy, and helping the function evolve toward a more digitally enabled, insight-led operating model
* Contribute to the creation of scalable design systems and experience standards that ensure consistency, accessibility, and effectiveness across HR services
* Stay current on emerging technologies, tools and trends in AI, people analytics and UX, and bring those insights into our design approach
* Strong people and stakeholder analysis skills, adept at building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and communicating effectively – including the confidence to push back and challenge to ensure we deliver the best experience for our people
* Strong written skills including the ability to build change governance / senior leader packs
* Strong presentation skills to communicate effectively and deliver and facilitate training / workshops and other presentations
* Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills
* Sound understanding of change methodologies (ie Prosci)
A curiosity to interrogate existing processes and systems, and the confidence to ask “Should we..?” to encourage reflection, informed decision-making, innovation, and continuous improvement
* Strong business analysis skills, with experience in measuring and reporting success of activity through tracking appropriate metrics and making data-driven recommendations to improve adoption
* The ability to take initiative and work independently and work positively and thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, being comfortable with moving timelines, project scope and switching between projects and tasks, and achieve desired outcomes
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Change Management, Communications, Process Improvement, Business or related discipline or equivalent experience required
Why Join Us:
* Be part of a team that is dedicated to making a positive impact on our customers and communities.
* Work in a fast paced, dynamic and supportive environment that values innovation and excellence.
* Enjoy opportunities for professional growth and development.
