Fugro Australia Marine provide subsea construction, inspection, repair, and maintenance (IMR) services and decommissioning; Fugro are also industry leaders in remote system technology solutions, including USVs and ROVs. In addition our Geoconsulting teams of experts provide consultancy services within the fields of geology, geoscience, geophysics and geotechnical engineering. We focus on marine projects predominantly in the offshore energy sectors in Australia and the Asia Pacific region, and currently have a strong demand in the offshore renewables market.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior QHSSE Advisor to work in our team based out of West Perth and supporting our projects within the Pacific region. You will be responsible for the completion of specified technical tasks and project elements in an independent manner. In addition to taking a leadership role to junior team members, you will be reporting to the QHSSE Manager and be responsible for but not limited to the following:

- Implementation of health, safety and environmental management systems
- Lead the HAZID and risk workshop facilitation process
- Drive the development of the site safety processes, review and input toward company standards and procedures and ensure all training competencies and compliances meet the company/project compliance and statutory obligations
- Actively promoting understanding and adherence to HSE management systems requirements
- Assist in the maintenance of management systems controlling HSE
- Primary liaison with clients on assigned projects
- Review and development of safe working procedures
- QHSSE input into reports, tenders and proposals.
- Manage the environmental compliance requirements of offshore and onshore projects
- Monitor and interpret relevant HSE legislation, policies and regulations in order to provide direction and advice to projects which meet statutory and corporate objectives and responsibilities
- Prepare and review project HSE documentation to ensure a coordinated approach to ensure legislative and contractual requirements are met
- Investigate and report on worksite incidents and occurrences in accordance with the Fugro Business Management System and client requirements
- Ensure that all necessary steps are taken to meet the Company's license conditions (where applicable) and to minimize risks.

About You

Your success in securing this role will require:

- Hold a degree/diploma in a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated experience, preferably in a marine/oil and gas background
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of appropriate Australian Safety legislation, standards and codes
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
