Electrical Service Technician Role
The key objective of this position is to provide expert electrical services to commercial kitchen equipment and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems for commercial kitchen and automation equipment.
* Carrying out scheduled servicing and attending urgent breakdowns to minimize disruption to client operations.
* Reading and interpreting schematics, wiring layouts, and control diagrams.
* Investigating electrical faults and implementing repairs on panels, motor controls, and low-voltage systems.
* Collaborating with team members, clients, and suppliers to deliver timely, safe, and high-quality outcomes.
* Preparing documentation including test records, system status notes, and client guidance.
Requirements:
* Trade qualification or engineering degree in Electrical or Electronics (or equivalent overseas qualification).
* At least 5 years' experience working with electrical systems, including some exposure to automation or process controls.
* Proficiency in fault-finding, wiring, and component-level diagnostics.
* Prior experience working with control panels, PLCs, or low-voltage installations is an advantage.
* Good understanding of safety procedures and relevant Australian standards.
* Ability to work independently and think through technical challenges under time pressure.
* Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to job sites across the Melbourne metro area.
Bonus points for experience in commercial kitchen, hospitality, or aged care environments, interest in energy-efficient systems, building automation, or low-current infrastructure, and willingness to learn local codes and regulations if internationally qualified.
