About the Role: We are urgently seeking an Allied Health Professional for a locum position with the Glenorchy & Northern Continuing Care Team in Glenorchy, TAS. This is a Monday to Friday, day-work contract (8:30am – 5:06pm) running from 8 April 2026 to 10 July 2026. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality community-based mental health services in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, providing responsive care to consumers including triage, comprehensive mental health assessments, assertive case management, safety planning and ongoing psychotherapeutic work. Key Responsibilities Manage a designated patient caseload within the community mental health setting Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and assertive case coordination Deliver recovery-focused, evidence-based interventions for clients in the community Provide safety planning, psychotherapeutic work and discharge/transfer of care planning Participate in the duty roster as part of the multidisciplinary team Act as a clinical resource for nursing, medical and allied health staff managing consumers with complex mental health needs Provide carer education and consultation, and collaborate with GPs and other service providers Work collaboratively with colleagues as an active team player Benefits: $91,000 – $110,000 per annum superannuation Monday to Friday - no weekend work Day work hours only - 8:30am to 5:06pm Fixed-term contract - 8 April to 10 July 2026 Work within a supportive and well-established multidisciplinary team About You: Relevant Allied Health Professional qualification (Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or equivalent) Current Allied Health Professional Board of Australia registration Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Tasmania) or willingness to obtain Experience in community mental health, complex case management and evidence-based mental health interventions Strong assessment, safety planning and psychotherapeutic skills Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Eligible to work in Australia About Us: MediRecruit provides a specialist healthcare recruitment and career advisory service for Allied Health professionals in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
