As they continue to invest into further capability for growth, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Key Account Management, Customer & Commercial to join the leadership team and drive a key account management strategy and lift the commercial capabilities within some of the most high-profile customers in the business.
Key duties & responsibilities:
Key Account Management:
Be hands on in developing and maintain strong strategic relationships with key clients to understand their business needs and objectives.
Act as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored packaging solutions that meet clients' requirements.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and meet business objectives.
Identify new business opportunities within existing key accounts and strategize for account expansion.
Contract Negotiation:
Lead contract negotiations and renewals with key clients, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for both parties.
Work closely with the legal team to finalize and execute contracts.
Market Analysis:
Stay informed about industry trends and market conditions, providing insights and recommendations for business development.
Conduct regular market analysis to identify potential challenges and opportunities within the key accounts.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with the sales, marketing, procurement, and operational teams to align strategies and ensure a cohesive approach to client management.
Provide leadership and guidance to the customer service and sales support team, fostering a culture of excellence and customer-centricity - direct reports x6
Commercial:
Lead and drive S&OP process with supply and operations, undertake financial analysis and provide insights on customer revenue growth, and business profitability, support businesses benchmarking, tendering and pricing activities, ensuring competitive pricing strategies and ROI, assist in developing innovative commercial business solutions aligned with financial targets and requirements, Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with customers while fostering strong vendor relationships inclusive of partner rebate program, develop and implement customer performance dashboards and KPIs to monitor customer performance and support strategic decision-making.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Ideally be degree qualified in Business, Marketing, or a related field - degree not essential as experience is more critical.
* Proven experience in key account management, preferably coming from the food packaging industry.
* Outstanding customer/key account management skills with a background in selling, negotiation, developing and managing trading terms, planning and execution, and experience with measuring and monitoring success and what that looks like
* Business builder with a hands-on leadership style
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Analytical and process focussed - Experience with BI reporting tools
* Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and pursue business opportunities
