Offer description

At Minoland, we're all about creating magical, safe, and unforgettable experiences for 0-15 year olds—with our core audience being primary school kids (5-12 years old). As one of the biggest upcoming indoor playcentre in Melbourne, we blend fun, safety, and innovation to be the go‐to destination for children's play, birthday parties, and family outings.

We're seeking a dynamic and passionate Play Centre Manager to join our leadership team. If you're passionate about child safety, team leadership, and building Melbourne's best playcentre brand, we want to hear from you!

The Role

As our Playcentre Manager, you'll be the backbone of our daily operations, driving safety, team performance, and revenue growth. This is a hands‐on leadership role where you'll shape our safety standards, lead our team, and expand our popular birthday party services to delight more families.

Key Responsibilities 1. Safety & Compliance Leadership (Core Priority)

Develop and implement comprehensive safety standards and protocols tailored to a 0-15 age group indoor playcentre, aligned with Australian safety regulations (including child safety, equipment maintenance, and emergency response).

Conduct regular safety audits of play equipment, facilities, and operational processes; identify and resolve safety risks proactively.

Train all staff on safety protocols and ensure 100% compliance to protect the wellbeing of every child and customer.

2. Team Training & Management

Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor a diverse team (including play attendants, party coordinators, and maintenance staff) to deliver exceptional customer service and safety compliance.

Create clear team workflows, set performance KPIs, and conduct regular performance reviews to drive employee engagement, efficiency, and retention.

Manage staff scheduling, resolve workplace issues, and foster a positive, inclusive team culture focused on family‐friendly values.

3. Birthday Party Service Development & Growth

Lead the development and expansion of our birthday party packages (tailored for primary school kids and younger/older children) to boost revenue and customer loyalty.

Design creative party themes, activities, and add‐on services (e.g., catering, entertainment) to meet the evolving needs of families.

Oversee all party operations: coordinate with customers, manage party coordinators, and ensure seamless, memorable experiences for every birthday celebration.

Analyze party booking data and implement strategies to increase booking volume and customer satisfaction.

4. Daily Operations Oversight

Supervise daily centre operations, including opening/closing procedures, play area management, and customer service support.

Monitor staff efficiency and productivity to ensure smooth centre flow, short wait times, and high customer satisfaction.

Resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly (with a focus on family‐friendly communication) to maintain our 5‐star reputation.

Track daily operational metrics (e.g., customer numbers, staff productivity, safety incidents) and report insights to senior leadership.

5. Health & Safety & Customer Experience

Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all children and families, adhering to hygiene and safety best practices.

Ensure all staff are equipped to handle child‐related scenarios (e.g., minor injuries, behavioural challenges) and elevate issues as needed.

Continuously refine the customer experience based on feedback to drive repeat visits and word‐of‐mouth referrals.

What We're Looking For

3+ years of management experience (preferably in a playcentre, entertainment, leisure, or customer‐facing environment).

Proven experience developing safety standards, training teams, and managing daily operations (playcentre experience is a strong plus).

Demonstrated success in revenue growth or service expansion (e.g., launching party packages, increasing customer retention).

Deep understanding of child safety principles for 0-15 year olds (knowledge of Australian childcare safety regulations is highly desirable).

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage with teams, families, and children.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage a busy, fast‐paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams) and basic POS/booking system software.

A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one.

Passion for children's play and family entertainment.

Creative mindset to innovate and enhance our party services and play experiences.

Problem‐solving mindset with a focus on proactive risk management.
