M365 Developer - Short Term Contract - Perth, WA
Your new company
A major government department undertaking a large-scale digital modernisation program. With the current intranet nearing end-of-life, the team is rebuilding a modern, scalable, user-friendly platform on SharePoint Online. You will join a collaborative environment focused on delivering a robust and future-ready intranet solution.
Your new role
As the M365 Developer, you'll lead the technical build of a new SharePoint Online intranet (MVP). This includes configuring modern SPO components, designing reusable templates, developing SPFx solutions where needed, and automating provisioning using PnP PowerShell.
You'll play a key role in establishing governance, structure, and long-term maintainability across the new platform.
What you'll need to succeed
1. SharePoint Online Modern Experience
* Strong hands-on experience with SPO Modern
* Knowledge of OOTB web, site templates, hub sites
* Experience delivering enterprise intranets
* Solid understanding of information architecture and metadata
2. SPFx Development
* Skilled in TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks
* Experience creating SPFx extensions and web parts
* Ability to build lightweight, maintainable solutions
* Awareness of SPFx versioning and upgrade considerations
3. PowerShell & Automation
* Proficiency with PnP PowerShell
* Ability to automate site provisioning, permissions, templates, reporting
4. Template & Provisioning Design
* Experience with Site Designs, Site Scripts, PnP templates
* Ability to create standardised page templates and layouts
* Strong understanding of governance and branding consistency
5. Microsoft 365 Ecosystem
* Knowledge of SPO integration with Teams, MS Search
* Understanding of M365 security, compliance, and permissions
6. Governance & Best Practice
* Strong SharePoint governance knowledge
* Ability to document architecture, scripts, templates, and support handovers
