Job Title: Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist
This is a pivotal role within the finance team, encompassing payroll and accounts payable functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing training to employees.
Key Responsibilities:
* Owning payroll operations, including monthly payroll processing, superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG, and salary sacrifice payments for up to 88 employees.
* Ensuring adherence to Australian laws, regulations, and awards related to payroll, taxation, and superannuation.
* Generating periodic payroll reports as required, including end-of-year reporting.
* Providing support and training to employees on payroll-related matters.
* Identifying opportunities to streamline payroll processes, enhance efficiency, and improve accuracy through automation or process improvements.
Accounts Payable Functions:
* Processing supplier invoices, matching them with purchase orders and other documentation, and accurately entering data into the accounting system.
* Initiating payments to vendors and suppliers in accordance with payment terms and purchasing policy.
* Communicating with suppliers regarding accounts payable-related matters.
* Processing employee expense reports and reimbursements.
* Managing debit and credit cards for the business, including monthly reconciliations.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Providing ad-hoc support to members of the Finance and People teams.
* Assistance with quarterly business activity statements and annual fringe benefits tax returns.
