John Fawkner Private Hospital is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to join our Emergency Department team. You will play a key role within a supportive team to ensure our patients have a positive experience during their care.
About Us
John Fawkner Private Hospital is located in the northwest of Melbourne. With 186 registered beds, a 12-cubicle Emergency Department, 4 operating theatres, a 12-bed critical care complex, and a busy Day Procedure Unit, the hospital offers a wide range of services to its community. The hospital specializes in orthopedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT, and gynecology.
Responsibilities
* Providing leadership and direction to the Emergency Department team.
* Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management.
* Coordinating the delivery of evidence-based nursing care.
* Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family-centered care in a team-focused environment.
* Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to your team.
* Managing human, financial, and material resources effectively.
* Undertaking direct patient care as required.
* Ensuring compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
Essential Criteria
* Current Registration with AHPRA.
* Working with Children check.
* Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.
* Postgraduate qualification in critical care and experience in a critical care setting.
* A strong commitment to developing in a management role.
* A management degree or working towards one (desirable).
* Demonstrated HR management experience.
* Sound knowledge of labor management.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* High standard of clinical and customer-focused care.
* High computer literacy, including MS Office and databases.
* Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
