Locum Mental Health Registered Nurse (12‑Week Contract)

We are seeking dedicated nurses for a 12‑week contract or more in regional and remote locations across Australia. In these dynamic roles you’ll provide case management, planning patient care, administering medication, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining precise documentation.

* Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk and needs evaluations.
* Develop, implement, and regularly review individualized care plans for patients.
* Administer and monitor psychiatric medications, observing and documenting effects and side effects.
* Deliver therapeutic interventions such as counseling, behavioral management, and psychoeducation.
* Monitor and evaluate patients’ mental state, behavior, and progress throughout treatment.
* Manage psychiatric emergencies and employ de‑escalation or crisis intervention techniques when needed.

Requirements:

* Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in a mental health nursing setting from one of the following countries: New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, United States, Canada, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, or Singapore.
* At least 3 years of total Registered Nursing experience overall.
* Nursing home experience is a must.
* Applicants must be under 40 years old at the time of application.
* Registered with AHPRA or eligible for registration.
* Experience in one or more of the following specialties: Inpatient / General Mental Health, Eating Disorders, Community Mental Health, Forensic Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Addiction Services.
* Willingness to live and work in regional or rural Australia.

Consultant Psychiatrist – Women’s Mental Health Facilities (Flexible Working)

Our clients in Australia are seeking Consultant Psychiatrists for Women’s Mental Health facilities located in regional and rural Australia. We are looking for passionate and dedicated professionals who are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of service users while building a rewarding career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

* Diagnose and manage a broad range of medical conditions.
* Conduct mental health assessments and make appropriate referrals.
* Perform physical examinations and administer immunisations.
* Prescribe medications and refer patients to specialist services as required.
* Build strong therapeutic relationships and deliver high-quality patient care.
* Provide comprehensive inpatient and intensive day programs tailored specifically for women.
* Deliver compassionate, women‑focused care within a collaborative and supportive environment.
* Support a 10–14 day inpatient program complemented by an intensive community‑based day program offering personalised, evidence‑based care.

Requirements:

* Current AHPRA registration or eligibility to apply.
* Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).
* Demonstrated expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions.
* Experience in admitting and managing inpatients.
* Applicants holding MRCPsych (UK) with CCT/CCST may be eligible for an accelerated pathway.

Nurse Unit Manager – Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit (South West VIC)

Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday (business hours). 3‑month fixed term. ASAP start. Unit: Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit (MHAIU).

* Leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team in a busy acute mental health inpatient environment.
* Managing clinical operations, staffing, and service delivery.
* Ensuring high standards of safety, risk management, and recovery‑focused care.
* Supporting staff supervision, professional development, and performance management.
* Driving quality improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with legislation, including the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
* Collaborating with senior clinicians and stakeholders to enhance patient care and service integration.

What We’re Looking For:

* AHPRA‑registered Registered Nurse with a mental health qualification.
* Postgraduate Diploma or Masters in Mental Health Nursing (or specialist MH undergraduate program).
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in mental health services.
* Proven leadership and management experience in an acute mental health setting.
* Strong communication, clinical governance, and problem‑solving skills.
* Victorian NUM or senior leadership experience in a MH inpatient unit (highly regarded).
