The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) is the lead agency which forms the Stronger Communities Cluster. The department includes the former departments of Family and Community Services (FACS) and Justice.

**About the Opportunity**
The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality secretarial, executive and administrative services to support public sector senior executive(s) in managing their operation area/directorate/division.
The Executive Assistant will need to show initiative, proactively tracking, coordinating and ensuring resolution of tasks and issues to enable the best allocation of the Executive District Director's time and resources.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Provide high quality and efficient executive support and administrative services. Exercise discretion, initiative and confidentiality to support the executive's achievement of organisational objectives.
- Coordinate a range of correspondence to ensure that all business information is accurate and confidential.
- Use relevant technology to prepare documentation and presentation material to support business unit managers and directors.
- Maintain solid working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate coordination of appointments, meetings and travel arrangements. This contributes to the effective management of the executive's diary.
- Research, collate and summarise information and prepare a range of documentations as required to ensure the executive(s) and broader team are well prepared to make informed decisions.
- Maintain a system to track, identify and follow up on outstanding actions, issues and correspondence to determine appropriate actions and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Contribute to the design, implementation and coordination of administrative practices, business systems and procedures to deliver the required outcomes of the executive(s), including where required finance and human resources.
This is an ongoing role in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013.
A Recruitment Pool may be created to fill similar roles for both ongoing and temporary opportunities if and as they arise
The Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 requires persons engaged in children related work to have Working with Children clearances.
