The role
identifies, designs and implements initiatives that drive both short‐and long‐term business objectives.
With accountability for initiatives that deliver strong P&L and customer outcomes, the role ensures all initiatives are delivered in line with compliance and regulatory requirements.
This role suits someone with a strong operational foundation, who is looking for the next step to show their ability to think differently, design solutions and drive efficiency.
Commercial Direct and Specialised consists of 4 brands (AAMI, GIO, Suncorp and Vero). The portfolio includes Business Insurance, Commercial Motor and Strata.
What you'll do:
* Identify and design strategic initiatives, including underwriting appetite and growth projects, whilst liaising with key business partners across Suncorp
* Support adherence to the risk appetite and continually develop and monitor performance of customer, brand and risk segments
* Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines for risk acceptance for portfolio performance
* Demonstrate understanding of products and their distribution and how propositions connects with customer needs
* Ensure Underwriting consistency across distribution channels.
What you'll bring:
* Experience in General Insurance Underwriting, Insurance Sales and/ or Claims
* Knowledge of Underwriting risk drivers
* Experience of designing/ solving while balancing trade offs
* Experience making recommendations aligned with strategy and risk appetite
* Risk assessment and strong analytical skills including the application of sound commercial judgement.
