Are you a legal professional with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and a passion for delivering high-quality legal and commercial support? Our government client is seeking a highly capable Legal & Project Coordinator for a 6-month temporary role. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic legal and commercial services team supporting major state infrastructure outcomes. About the Role
In this varied and impactful role, you will provide senior-level paralegal and legal support to internal stakeholders while contributing to corporate risk, reporting, and project coordination activities. You will work closely with internal teams, external legal providers, and government bodies to deliver quality legal, commercial, and governance services.
Key Responsibilities
* Legal & Commercial Support: Provide senior paralegal/legal services to internal stakeholders.
* Review and prepare complex legal and commercial correspondence, reports, and documents.
* Negotiate, draft, and review complex legal and non-legal documents, including commercial agreements.
* Liaise and negotiate with external parties on complex legal matters.
* Brief, interpret, and communicate legal advice received from the State Solicitor's Office and contracted law firms.
* Participate in complex general legal and commercial matters as required.
* Coordinate responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, subpoenas, and document production requirements.
* Provide guidance, constructive feedback, and mentoring to junior legal team members.
* Assist in building capability across the legal and commercial services team.
* Coordinate corporate risk management and corporate reporting activities.
* Facilitate corporate risk workshops and support the review of risk policy and corporate projects.
* Provide generalised support relating to claims, insurance matters, and other commercial functions.
Team Support & Leadership
* Provide guidance, constructive feedback, and mentoring to junior legal team members.
* Assist in building capability across the legal and commercial services team.
Risk & Corporate Coordination
* Coordinate corporate risk management and corporate reporting activities.
* Facilitate corporate risk workshops and support the review of risk policy and corporate projects.
* Provide generalised support relating to claims, insurance matters, and other commercial functions.

Essential Requirements
* Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and provide constructive feedback to legal team members.
* Strong capability in interpreting legal advice, applying legal principles, undertaking legal research, and solving complex problems.
* Highly developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Desirable
* Law degree with relevant legal experience.
