As an Operator Maintainer, you will play a key role in both operating the Wastewater Treatment Plants and Reuse facilities and applying your Mechanical trade skills to deliver scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks that ensure asset reliability and operational continuity. Support Capital projects and process improvements.
This hands-on role is focused on:
· Operate the plants to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant performance
· Undertake fault-finding and troubleshooting to resolve issues quickly
· Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as implement process improvements
Your main duties will include:
· Ensure safe, compliant and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment plant and reuse systems.
· Monitoring SCADA and onsite systems, responding to alarms, and maintaining process stability.
· Conducting process adjustments, routine sampling, and basic laboratory testing.
· Supporting maintenance activities including basic fault-finding and preventive tasks.
· Maintaining accurate operational records and chemical stock levels.
· Participating in capital works activities and liaising with contractors.
· Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant performance.
What are we looking for?
We would be very keen to hear from you if you have experience in any of the following:
· Mechanical trades qualification
· Water or wastewater treatment operations working experience or interest.
· Process plant operations or maintenance..
· SCADA monitoring & fault finding
· Excellentorganisational skills with the ability to prioritise, show initiative.
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to work as a team member or independently.
· A current unrestricted driver's licence.
It is also desirable if you have:
· A Certificate III in Water Operations or equivalent qualifications..
As an integral member of the team, you will be willing to work flexible hours to meet operational demands, travel to metropolitan sites as required, and participate in a rotating on-call roster which includes additional payment and allowances.
