Offer description

Looking for a role where your work genuinely makes a difference?

At Southern Downs Regional Council, grants are more than paperwork and funding applications.

They help deliver:

* Community projects
* Arts and cultural initiatives
* Regional events
* Infrastructure improvements
* Opportunities that strengthen local communities

As our Grants Officer, you'll help turn ideas into funded outcomes that benefit the people and places of the Southern Downs.

And you'll do it while enjoying a lifestyle many people dream about —surrounded by wineries, rolling countryside, four distinct seasons and vibrant regional communities.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an organised and community-minded Grants Officer to support Council's grant activities and funding programs across the region.

Working within the Strategy, Growth & Stakeholder Engagement Directorate, you'll:

* Coordinate community grant programs and funding rounds
* Support the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF)
* Manage acquittals, reporting and compliance requirements
* Assist community groups in identifying funding opportunities
* Prepare grant-related reports, correspondence and submissions
* Help community organisations to source funding outside of Council

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys administration with purpose, relationship‐building and supporting communities to succeed.

Why Southern Downs?

The Southern Downs is one of Queensland's most unique regional destinations, offering:

* Award‐winning wineries and cellar doors
* Stunning autumn colours and four true seasons
* Cosy winters and country charm
* Vibrant festivals, arts and community events
* National parks, granite landscapes and outdoor adventure
* Affordable living and genuine work‐life balance

Forget city congestion and long commutes.

Here, you can enjoy a meaningful career while having more time for the things that matter.

Why Join Council?

At Southern Downs Regional Council, you'll be part of a supportive and collaborative organisation that values its people and the communities it serves.

* 9-day fortnight
* Ongoing learning and development opportunities
* Diverse and meaningful work
* A positive team environment
* The opportunity to directly support local organisations and projects

Your work will help unlock funding that strengthens communities across the region.

Who We're Looking For

You're someone who:

* Has strong organisational and administrative skills
* Enjoys working with people and building relationships
* Can manage multiple priorities and deadlines
* Has excellent written communication skills
* Pays attention to detail and understands compliance requirements
* Wants to contribute to positive community outcomes

Experience in grants, administration, local government or funding programs will be highly regarded — but just as important is your enthusiasm, initiative and ability to support others.

This Is More Than an Administration Role

It's an opportunity to:

* Help community projects become reality
* Support regional growth and local initiatives
* Build a meaningful career in local government

And enjoy a lifestyle that combines professional fulfilment with country living.

Join the Southern Downs and help create opportunities that strengthen our communities for generations to come. Support communities. Secure opportunities. Love where you live.
