Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Basic Physician Trainee to join our growing team on a full time (1.0EFT) fixed term basis.

The Basic Physician Trainee provides high-quality clinical care to patients at LRH while acquiring skills and knowledge required for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) Basic Training Program. This role involves working under supervision, contributing to multidisciplinary care, and participating in education and professional development activities.

The role of the Basic Physician Trainee is:

* Deliver safe, high-quality patient care under supervision and within scope of practice.
* Ensure timely clinical communication, handover, and escalation of care issues.
* Participate in ward rounds, unit meetings, and education sessions, including care presentations.
* Maintain accurate patient records and review patients daily.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for effective patient management and discharge planning.
* Provide teaching and supervision of interns and medical students.

About you

Ideal candidates for this role will have:

* MBBS or equivalent degree with current AHPRA registration.
* Experience as a hospital medical officer in the Australian Health System.
* Clinical competence appropriate to years since graduation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing demands.
* Commitment to professional development and high standards of patient care.
