About the role
Fulltime Accountant position - Start ASAP
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Prepare Business Activity Statement
* Preparation of Financial Statements, Tax Returns and Business Activity Statements for our broad business client base, including use of various Accounting Software packages
* Preparation and review of company and trust tax returns for a wide range of clients
* Develop strategies to resolve client issues and contribute ideas
* Liaise with the Australian Tax Office as required
* Manage workflow to ensure all deadlines are met
* Desk research relating to taxation matters and advisory assignments
* Stay up-to-date on the latest SMSF tax legislation and regulatory changes through ongoing training and industry resources
* Working within a team and assisting others where required
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:
* A professional disposition with strong verbal and written communication skills
* Experience with Xero, QuickBooks and document manager software package is desirable but not essential, guidance and training will be provided
* Experience in a professional services environment with a strong interest in tax and advisory
* Exceptional organizational and time management skills
* Ability to service and engage confidently with our clients and team members
* Accuracy, attention to detail and take responsibility in presentation of work; and
* Progress towards, or completion of, CA or CPA qualifications
