Description Lead with Vision – Become Head of Strategy, Segmentation & Insights at Westpac What’s the role? Join us as Head of Strategy, Segmentation & Insights and play a key role in shaping the future of our Consumer Division. You’ll lead data-driven strategies, drive personalisation at scale and influence executive decisions to deliver meaningful customer outcomes. Your role will involve: Consumer Division Strategy Set and align Consumer Division strategy with executive leadership for Board Strategy Review, in line with Consumer, Brand & Marketing and Group strategies. Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and performance metrics. Ensure alignment with Group policies, frameworks, risk appetite and relevant laws and regulations. Report on strategy function performance and governance to the COO and escalate market-sensitive matters per disclosure policy. Strategic Segmentation Leadership Lead customer segmentation aligned with enterprise goals and regulatory expectations. Embed segmentation in marketing, retail transformation, digital and product initiatives. Define KPIs for acquisition, growth and retention by segment. Customer Insight and Behavioural Analytics Develop multi-dimensional segmentation using behavioural, demographic and life-stage data. Generate insights to support pricing, cross-sell, churn prevention and new proposition strategies. Influence segment-specific frontline models and identify emerging high-potential segments. Collaboration and Influence Support Marketing, Product and CX teams with insights to drive segment-based campaigns and experiences. Partner with Data Science and Tech to ensure scalable, compliant data infrastructure. Collaborate with Risk and Compliance to uphold data ethics, privacy and regulatory compliance. Leadership and Capability Development Lead a high-performing team; attract and retain key talent. Build internal education and promote customer-centric thinking across teams. Champion test-and-learn culture and establish best practices in segmentation, analytics and lifecycle marketing. Risk Accountability Embed strong consumer and risk culture across the team. Manage internal/external incident reporting and regulatory breach handling. Apply controls to ensure data quality, secure storage and ethical usage. Oversee operational, compliance, conduct, and financial crime risks including AML/CTF measures. Implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans as needed. What do I need? Proven experience leading strategy and customer segmentation in large organisations. Strong analytical skills with ability to turn customer data into actionable insights. Ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate cross-functionally (e.g. Marketing, Product, CX, Risk). Experience driving lifecycle strategies across acquisition, growth and retention. Skilled in developing KPIs and performance metrics aligned to strategic goals. Strong leadership capabilities and experience building high-performing teams. Familiarity with risk, compliance and ethical data use. Strategic mindset with deep understanding of consumer behaviours and trends. Why join us?
