Under broad direction, you will apply technical, operational, governance and administrative processes using established project management methodologies. This role may involve handling technical and classified information related to small UAS (drones).Key responsibilities include:Supporting SO1 JCO & SO1 Land 156 in Defence capability deliveryManaging program-level risks, schedules and budgetsLiaising with Delivery Agencies and Services across DefenceCompliance with Land Capability Division governance and reportingManaging contract performance monitoring and audit requirementsLeading, coaching and mentoring staffYou will communicate with diverse stakeholders on complex operational and administrative issues, providing advice to achieve Defence outcomes. The role requires commitment to ongoing professional development and represents Defence at joint, whole-of-government and international forumsAbout our TeamThe Land Survivability Program delivers Army's contribution to the Integrated Force's resilience and survivability against emerging threats, both domestically and operationally.Aligned with National Defence Strategy (NDS) and Integrated Investment Program (IIP) priorities, the program delivers protective capabilities to the combined-arms fighting system while investing in disruptive technologies through various Australian industry partnerships.The program encompasses four key capability areas: Counter Explosive Hazards (CEH), Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Defence capabilities, Counter Small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (CsUAS), and Military Engineering.Our team operates in a dynamic environment requiring strong document creation, workflow management, team leadership and stakeholder engagement across multiple organisational levels. Essential clerical skills include finance, travel and workforce administration to support comprehensive program delivery.Our Ideal CandidateWe seek a highly organised individual with pragmatic problem-solving abilities and proven experience in complex information management environments with competing priorities. Your ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences including APS, ADF personnel and contractors, combined with emotional intelligence, resilience and adaptability, will determine your success.Essential capabilities include document writing, workflow management, team leadership, and representation at joint, whole-of-government and international forums. Strong clerical skills in finance, travel and workforce administration are required.You must uphold Australian Public Service and Defence Values while being a collaborative team player who demonstrates adaptability, support and consideration for all staff.
