Apprenticeship Boilermaker
Far North Fabrication P/L are currently looking to recruit new apprentices to engage in the (Engineering - Metal Fabrication & Welding Trade) and join our specialised project team in Cairns.
New apprentices, Stage 1, 2 & 3 out of trade apprentices as well as school based & mature aged apprentices will all be considered.
Working with qualified and skilled tradesmen you will gain valuable hands-on experience, mentoring and support.
Far North Fabrication Pty Ltd is a locally owned and operated Australian fabrication, ship repair and boat building business with a fixed base of operation in Cairns with the addition of supplying satellite maintenance support to multiple regions nationally.
Duties will involve:
• Assist in the fabrication, welding, repair and construction of maritime assets
• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings
• Operate tools, machinery, and welding equipment under supervision
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Work closely with qualified tradespeople and receive on-the-job training
The successful candidate will:
* Be a confident communicator
* Be able to undertake manual/physical work
* Motivated with a genuine interest in the fabrication & welding industry
* Be punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
* Have a high level of attention to detail
Suitable applicants must have a genuine interest in pursuing metal fabrication & welding as a career path, be motivated and willing to work hard to achieve trade qualifications.
Successful candidates will undergo Certificate III in Engineering MEM31922 along with other industry-based training certification.
To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full working rights within Australia.
