Manager Statutory Planning and Building Services – 5‐year maximum term contract.
Location: Richmond, City of Yarra, Melbourne.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager City Sustainability and Strategy, the Manager will provide inspirational leadership to the Statutory Planning and Building Services teams. The role contributes to the Council Plan through high‐quality service provision and supports governance, risk management, decision‐making and customer service using robust, contemporary methods compliant with legislative frameworks.
* Bring proven leadership and statutory planning and/or building expertise, ideally in an inner‐city environment.
* Form credible, collaborative relationships with diverse groups and individuals.
* Demonstrate strong consultation, presentation and communication skills, and the ability to develop and inspire great outcomes from the team.
* Hold a tertiary degree in Planning/Building or a related discipline with a thorough knowledge of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Building Act 1993, and be politically astute with understanding of economic, environmental and social dynamics of an inner‐metro community.
Qualifications
Essential experience in statutory planning and building, local government or an aligned sector.
