We are seeking a Staff Specialist Radiation Oncologist to join a growing and progressive cancer service in Tasmania. This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment, providing consultant-level care across both inpatient and outpatient settings while contributing to a well‐established and expanding oncology service.
ResponsibilitiesDeliver high‐quality radiation oncology services, including participation in an on‐call roster, involvement in quality assurance initiatives, and contribution to ongoing service development.
Provide strong exposure to teaching and mentoring, supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate training.
Actively engage in research and clinical trials, working alongside a skilled and supportive team with access to advanced treatment capabilities, including statewide brachytherapy services.
Health ServiceThe Northern Cancer Service provides comprehensive and integrated cancer care to a population of approximately 250,000 people across Northern Tasmania. It brings together medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology services to deliver high‐quality, patient‐centred care across the region.
The LocationLaunceston in the Tamar Valley, a regional city in Tasmania.
Essential CriteriaPermanent full‐time role (76 hours per fortnight) with flexible arrangements negotiable.
Base salary starting from approximately $484,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
Additional salary ranges available from $216,300 – $310,389 depending on classification.
Private Patient Scheme earnings (up to 35% of base salary, subject to approval).
Fully maintained vehicle or allowance (~$28,786 p.a.).
CPD allowance (~$16,974 p.a.).
Relocation and accommodation support up to $20,000.
On‐call allowances and additional entitlements.
