About the role As the Facilities and Projects Manager, you will oversee the maintenance and development of the College's property and facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and welcoming. You will directly manage grounds and maintenance staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performing service orientated team. Your role will involve developing and implementing a three-year property and facilities maintenance plan, aligning with the College's strategic goals. Ensuring compliance with the Building Act 2016, managing the College's asset register, and maintaining and improving emergency plans will be key responsibilities. You will lead procurement and contract management activities, securing value for money and high-quality outcomes. Additionally, you will oversee construction and refurbishment projects, liaising with architects, builders, and contractors to bring the College's vision to life. Ensuring the security of the College's property and facilities by developing policies and procedures as needed will also be a crucial part of your role. You will also: Lead and manage periodic contractual performance conversations. Regular reviews of the College’s building, maintenance, cleaning, canteen and uniform shop contracts (and other contracts as required). Monitor and manage the use of external contractors to ensure the College is receiving competitive pricing, high quality compliant work and that all contracts are executed to budget and scope. What you’ll need to succeed You are a strategic leader with a passion for managing resources and facilities. To excel in this role, you should have proven experience in facilities and project management, strong leadership and team management skills, excellent strategic planning and organisational abilities, knowledge of compliance and safety regulations, and proficiency in Microsoft software suites and relevant specialised software. You will also have: Excellent communication skills with a wide range of people including external stakeholders and ability to resolve conflicts. Exceptional time management and organisational skills. Highly effective administrative abilities and clear decision-making. Ability to influence and collaborate effectively. Innovative problem-solving and initiative-driven approach.
