Key Roles in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Care Team
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) service at The Royal Children's Hospital offers a range of roles for professionals who are passionate about working with children, young people and their families.
Our team includes psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and speech pathologists who work together to provide high-quality care to infants, children, and adolescents with mental health issues.
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our multidisciplinary team in Tarneit. This part-time, fixed-term position will be based in the community outpatient clinic and will involve working with children, young people and their families to provide assessment, treatment and case management services.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in working with children and young people with complex mental health needs. You will also have access to ongoing training and development opportunities to support your professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality, tertiary mental health care to infants, children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each child and family.
* Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for children and families.
* Participate in regular supervision and peer review to maintain high standards of practice and stay up-to-date with best practices in CAMH care.
Requirements:
* Master's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, occupational therapy, social work, nursing).
* Current registration with the relevant profession's governing body (e.g., Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
* Minimum 2 years' experience working with children and young people with mental health issues.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with children, young people, families and colleagues.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
