LET’S EXPLORE THE JOB Are you passionate about shaping vibrant and inclusive communities? As the Coordinator Social and Community Planning, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role within our Community Partnerships Department. This position is responsible for implementing strategic plans, policies and programs that support social service provision across the city. You’ll contribute expert advice to Council on social impacts related to rezoning, development applications, and master plans, ensuring that community facilities meet the evolving needs of our residents. Your core responsibilities will include supervising and motivating staff, overseeing the development and implementation of community plans, and providing research-based advice on community facilities and social needs. You’ll also manage projects to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery, prepare reports, identify and administer grant opportunities and coordinate community development activities and special events. The role may require some evening or weekend work, travel across multiple sites, and attendance at Council meetings. At the heart of this role is a commitment to working collaboratively with community volunteers, supporting their engagement and objectives in line with Council’s Volunteer Engagement Strategy. LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU You are a strategic thinker and an inspiring leader, ready to make a real difference in your community. You’ll have a track record successfully managing programs and projects, delivering results on time and within budget, and producing high-quality strategic plans through strong research skills. You have a deep understanding of social planning concepts and processes, and you’re adept at communicating and negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders. Your problem-solving and decision-making skills shine, especially in complex or political environments. You’ll also have:

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Social Sciences, Recreation Planning, Community or Welfare Studies, or demonstrated extensive experience in relevant field.
- A record of achievement in project management to deliver results on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated high level research skills and experience in producing strategic plans.
- Demonstrated understanding of social planning concepts and processes.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate and resolve conflict with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to motivate, collaborate and lead a team, in an environment of organisational change.
- Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence.

- Market-competitive salary from $127,635 - $148,333 a year plus 12 per cent superannuation.
