A leading construction and engineering organisation is seeking a proactive Financial Accountant to support its finance team during a busy period. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a project-driven environment, picks up new processes quickly, and enjoys contributing to continuous improvement.
About the Role
In this hands-on role, you will support core accounting activities and ensure the integrity of financial information across the business. You’ll work closely with project and corporate teams to deliver accurate month-end outcomes and play a key part in maintaining strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with month‑end processing, including journals, allocations, reconciliations and reporting
* Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure high-quality financial data
* Support treasury tasks such as cashflow reporting, interest calculations and bank reconciliation guidance
* Prepare and review customer invoices and provide backup support to AR when needed
* Assist with internal and external reporting requirements, including consolidation and statutory financial
* Respond to external audit queries and support compliance activities
* Identify opportunities to refine processes, improve efficiency and strengthen controls
* Provide day‑to‑day guidance to the Assistant Accountant
What You’ll Bring
* Degree-qualified, CA/CPA qualified or working towards
* Strong financial accounting capability, with SAP experience essential
* Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex data
* Able to adapt quickly, work across shifting priorities and operate in a fast‑moving environment
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
* A mindset focused on improvement, accuracy and disciplined delivery
