ILUA Administrator Role
Cockatoo Island is a unique opportunity to work on country and support meaningful employment, cultural heritage protection, environmental monitoring, and the development of long-term economic and training opportunities for Dambimangari Traditional Owners. We are seeking an ILUA Administrator to join our team in Derby, WA.
About the Role:
* This is a relationship-focused role requiring high-level communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* You will play a key part in ensuring the ILUAs are implemented successfully and in the best interests of the Dambimangari people.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of each of the ILUAs, identifying and assessing any associated risks.
* Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support to each of the ILUAs management committees, including organizing meetings, preparing and distributing documentation, recording minutes of meetings, and maintaining consistent communication to ensure all members and stakeholders are informed and engaged.
* Coordinate and maintain the Aboriginal heritage surveys and organise site visits on CI. Prepare and present biannual reports on financials, HSE, and operational matters.
* Develop strategic business plans for DAC to identify and support business, training, and employment opportunities on Cockatoo Island for traditional owners.
Requirements:
* Degree or postgraduate qualifications in Human Resources, Community Development, Business Management, Mining or related field (desirable).
* Experience working with Aboriginal people and communities in a culturally appropriate manner.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and project management experience.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* High-level organisational and administrative abilities.
* Knowledge of the Native Title Act, Mining Act, and other relevant legislation.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
