Surgical Ward Nurse Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team on Surgical Ward 2. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Surgical Ward 2 Overview:
Our ward is a 30-bed unit specializing in the pre and post-operative care of elective and emergency surgery/trauma patients. You will work closely with our experienced team to deliver comprehensive patient assessment, monitoring, and observation, as well as IV & CVAD management and complex wound management.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general nursing duties, including pre and post-operative care, patient assessment, and monitoring.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for each patient.
- Perform IV & CVAD management, including insertion, maintenance, and removal of central lines and peripherally inserted central catheters.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, collaborating with others to achieve shared goals.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
