Key Responsibilities
As an inspiring leader at one of our Fulfillment Centres or Delivery Stations, you will drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, ensuring that customer orders are delivered quickly, accurately, and cost‐effectively. From day one you will lead a team or a process, exercise sound judgement, maintain realistic and achievable progress and target metrics, and support your associates through training, integration, and progressive mentoring. You will ensure the health and safety of your team, collaborate with support functions (Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources) to meet business objectives, and build performance goals that uphold customer promise expectations.
As a Graduate Area Manager, you will be:
* Leading and developing a team of Amazon associates
* Maintaining Health and Safety standards and promoting an inspiring Health and Safety culture on‐site
* Developing performance goals and objectives to achieve customer promise expectations and ensure accuracy and quality
* Collaborating with all support teams to develop plans that meet business objectives
* Partnering with the management team to establish and maintain quality control standards
* Reviewing the work forecasts and determining your daily production requirements to meet overall building objectives
* Demonstrating problem‐solving and analytical capabilities
Shift & Compensation
This role is based on a night shift, with shift hours approximately from 6:30pm to 4:30am. Shifts run from Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday. Candidates will be eligible for a night shift allowance in addition to their total compensation.
A Day in the Life
Your main focus will be to maintain safety standards within your team and across the site while monitoring and maintaining process efficiency. Daily tasks include prioritising routine team management, responding to individual escalations, pursuing process improvement projects, and planning contingency strategies. You will work closely with colleagues in other teams and external partners to stay on track for customer demands and targets, analysing data and performance metrics, and discussing potential operational or technical improvements.
The Graduate Program
The program is designed to make you feel valued, included, and enabled from day one. It includes an 11‐week onboarding/training program that develops both soft‐skill interactions and technical scenarios through virtual and practical learning. After onboarding, the program focuses on building proficiency within your role and broadening your understanding of the wider Amazon Australia operation.
About the Team
You are part of a dynamic operations team in the heart of the action, working with other Area Managers, support staff, and mentors. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of Amazon Operations and grow your leadership and operational expertise.
Basic Qualifications
* Completed a tertiary qualification (undergraduate or post‐graduate) in engineering (non‐software) or science (logistics, supply chain management) within the last 24 months
* People‐focused and loves to analyse problems
* Solution oriented with the ability to work independently
* Possesses leadership qualities
* Loves to have fun and make history!
Preferred Qualifications
* Some work experience—placement years, internships, or university projects
* Prior experience in a leadership or operational role (advantageous)
