Join Amazon as a RME Mechatronics Apprentice in the East of England. This apprenticeship offers a 36‑48 month fixed‑term contract beginning September 2026, with a full‑time residential component for the first 12 months at an Amazon training centre and subsequent on‑line/remote study. You will learn how to maintain and repair the complex robotic, conveyor, and sensor systems that keep millions of orders moving.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out proactive and preventive maintenance on automated equipment.
- Repair and diagnose faults in a live distribution warehouse setting.
- Use advanced tools to maximise equipment effectiveness.
- Make modifications and upgrades to existing machinery.
- Uphold health and safety policies and practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
Required qualifications
- UK national, EU national with settled status, or non‑UK national with the right to work and reside in England for the entire duration of the programme.
- Resident of the UK for the entire programme.
- Not registered to study on a UK government‑funded course that ends August 2026 or later.
- 18 years or older by September 2026.
- A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grades 9‑4 / A‑C (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and a science/technology subject.
- No qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject.
- Ability to work in a shift pattern covering days, nights, weekends.
Preferred qualifications
- 5 GCSEs at grades 9‑4 / A‑C (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and a science/technology subject.
- Achieved or studying towards a T‑Level in an engineering subject or A Levels with a bias towards science & technology.
