Nepean Private Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to assist in the coordination of nursing care and work in partnership with the theatre team. This new role is graded as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and will be responsible for providing supervision, direction and guidance to ensure safe practice, quality care and leadership.

Nepean Private Hospital is a modern 109 bed facility located in the multicultural Western Sydney city of Penrith, providing a wide range of health services since 2000, including orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. It has eight operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist your responsibilities will include:
* Support the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of excellent standard of evidence based, person centred care.
* Collaborate with the perioperative management team to provide strategic leadership, supervision and oversight as required.
* Demonstrate professional practice as evidence by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements and Healthscope's policies and processes.
* Foster a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team's professional development and maintaining own professional learning and continuous professional development and providing supervision and teaching to peers, ENs, graduates and students.
* Act as a valued member of the inter‐disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices.
* Collaborate with external partners to ensure patients receive a high quality of care across the health care continuum.
* Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes.
* Current AHPRA registration.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Perioperative RN particularly in Neuro/ENT, Anaesthetics, Robotic/Urology and General/Gyne.
* Prior experience as a CNS, acting NUM or in charge in theatre will be highly regarded.
* Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards).
* Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
* Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and work within a team environment.
* Passion for teaching, educating and up‐skilling staff in cardiac operating theatres.

Staff in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives' – Enterprise Agreement, a salary ranging from $57.12 to $63.37 per hour.
